Me [22F] and my [23M] boyfriend had a conversation about marriage tonight and he said he might not want to ever get married to me. Please help.

My boyfriend and I have been together for 5.5 years. When I was 18, I moved into his mom?s house with him and lived there for 4 years. We just moved into our own place this January. We have a cat and we have a very loving relationship. Today I asked him about his future goals and plans. None of them included me, and I said that. He said that being with me was a given because I am the woman he wants to be with. I said if he feels that way, we should get engaged because I love him and want to be with him. He told me he doesn?t see the point of marriage and he?s not sure he ever wants to get married. He said it's just a piece of paper. Whenever I bring up the topic we seem to get in a fight. I made it clear I am dating to get married. He said that?s shallow, and that a relationship is all about getting to know the other person and share experiences with. I have always been honest with him, that I want to be a wife and a married woman. I?m afraid it will never happen, and I?m not willing to just be a girlfriend forever. He has concerns over being engaged and getting married young, and he said I?m pressuring him. I told him 22 and 23 are now a normal age to get married, and having a conversation about marriage shouldn?t make him feel like I am pressuring him. I feel so sad about this, and don?t want to waste my twenties with someone who won?t marry me. What do I do?

tl;dr: Boyfriend of 5 years says marriage is just a piece of paper, and isn't sure he wants to get married to me.
