ELI5: Why does the moon change places every night?

Story from my aunt: ?Every night when i open my door around 9:10-9:15pm, the moon is directly above the garage across the street. For 3 days this continued. On the fourth day, around 9:15, the moon was nowhere to be seen. I walked all the way around my block, and I still could not find it. About an hour later, the moon appeared all the way to the left of the garage across the street.? Will someone still explain the my aunt why the moon?s position changed so suddenly?
