I (21F) is taking home a ward of the state (10M) for the holidays. Advice Please.

So to give some context. I work for a company that does a lot of corporate social responsibility. Through one of their initiatives, I met 2 boys and a girl who i fell in love with who were siblings. In my country we have a program where you can take home wards for the Christmas if it is that the state sees you fit. So i applied with the hopes i would get the three siblings but it so happens that they were not available. I decided to continue anyway with the process.
Today the social workers came to my home and I passed the home assessment. They then told me I could could get familiar with the child I was assigned. I left, went to the home where he stays to meet him.
He is a pretty shy kid, i expected as much. I guess he was playing because he was very dirty which i understand. The care taker told me how much he wanted to go on the Christmas program because he never left the facility and his mother who lives nearby rarely visits.
At the facility the other kids were asking me if I am going to take him home, when, where I live etc. He on the other hand was pretty quiet.
The three kids who were my first preference, i have met and know very well but this young man I have no idea of who he is. I am not afraid he is gonna steal from me or anything crazy. I'm just worried it wont be a good experience for him.
tldr: Taking home ward of the state for Christmas but worried last minute now that I wont be able to relate to him
