My [33F] sister [33F] is getting married and wants me to be her bridesmaid but also likes to bodyshame me
My sister [33F] is getting married next fall. Yay, right? Except I'm supposed to be her bridesmaid and she's always telling me to "cover up".
She's had a long history of being, well, frankly narcissistic when it comes to me (constantly berating me about my choices). But she's also come a long way these past 10 yrs and now we have a decent relationship. She's marrying a wonderful guy and I'm very happy for them. And she wants me to be her bridesmaid. And I've agreed, but with some trepidation.
I'm a busty girl. So much so that I frequently have trouble finding clothes that fit right. But I've amassed a nice work wardrobe that keeps everything covered and no one has mentioned anything about my wardrobe at my fairly conservative office job (not even my hyper-critical ex manager) so I know I'm doing ok at it.
I wore one of my work outfits to go see her and my mom the other day, and she made a comment about "that neckline is too low" and "I hope you're not going to wear something like that" while we were discussing my dress (She just wants to approve our dresses, doesn't care if they are different).
....and now I'm seeing a big fight at the end of the tunnel and no way out of it.
TL;DR: My [33F] sister [33F] is getting married and wants me to be her bridesmaid but also likes to bodyshame me. How do I set my boundaries about how im treated without "ruining her wedding"?
