[Update] My (F34) husband (M38) has been having an emotional affair
TD;LR Husband had emotional affair, I made him end it and now everybody are miserable. Update.
Original post: https://www.reddit.com/r/relationshi..._be_having_an/
I (F34) posted about my husband (M38) having an emotional affair with a younger woman (F28), possibly on the brink of turning physical. The many replies gave me a new perspective on things, and I would like to thank all of you who took the time to engage.
I confronted him, and told him to end it or I´ll divorce him. He did end it with her, and now everybody is miserable. He´s not saying anything, goes about his business as usual, but I can tell he´s hurting. The woman seems to be miserable, she´s posting sad song texts on social media and writing about how futile life is. I´m miserable too, though I really did nothing wrong. I thought having him break up would make me feel better and stronger, but it didn´t. Maybe time will work in our favor and heal us all.
I want to tell everybody who suspects their partner is getting too close to a "friend" of the opposite gender, to nip it in the bud. Don´t be naive like I was, and let it go as far as it did in this case. I would greatly appreciate any advice on how to proceed from here, and how to repair whatever is left to be repaired.
