How can I stop others from mistaking me as a gay man?

It happens far more often than I like, with both women and men. I have no clue why. I don't have any of the trademark gay characteristics. As far as I can tell I'm a normal cishet guy. I'm sorry I don't have any examples or evidence to present but any general advice would be appreciated.
