[UPDATE] My [27 f] husband [30 m] caught his sister [27 f] secretly recording conversation at family dinner, she claimed it was to have his family psycho analyzed. It got better and then SIL went back to being a creep.

Months ago I posted about my husband catching SIL recording the family’s conversation at the dinner table, after she had asked her parents a bunch of loaded questions regarding subjects where they are not politically correct. We took your advice, we told them we weren’t going back until she stopped recording. By then SIL had changed her story like five times, she even tried to play the victim and made up some sob story about how MIL had threatened to kill her. MIL is so blind that she refused to believe us when we told her SIL claimed MIL threatened her. After that we only went over for big holidays or when we knew SIL wouldn’t be there.
After some months of SIL seeing an actual therapist, the therapist before was apparently just a nutritionist, and getting a new job, SIL seemed like she was in a better place emotionally. She used to lie about everything, even **** that doesn’t matter, but she started making an effort to correct previous lies, and to be blunt, she became less of an *******. She actually seemed happy too which is a big deal because she is usually such a negative unhappy person. So we gave family dinner with her another chance and it went ok, meat still over cooked but whatever. Everything seemed nice and normal which was great.
That lasted until two days ago when I saw a picture of me on her phone. It was accompanied with a huge block of text she was still typing out when I walked by her and happened to see my freckly face on her iphone’s screen. The picture was taken in their living room and I was still wearing the same clothes as in the picture. I asked her what she was doing, and she ignored me and silently left the room. I don’t know who she is sending that picture of me to but it’s ****ing creepy. So of course I go and tell my husband, and he is ****** but he doesn’t want to leave because he hasn’t seen his brother in months, and BIL and his girlfriend are only in town for two days and staying there.
I agreed to stay and not confront SIL that weekend, BIL and his girlfriend had just gotten back from a very long trip abroad, and they’re such wonderful people that it was worth tolerating SIL to see them. So there’s that. SIL is a happier person but still a giant creep who we won’t be spending anymore time with. I think it’s safe to assume that if she’s taking pictures of us she’s probably doing other stuff we won’t like either. At least we had a really great time with BIL and his girlfriend.
Tl;Dr: SIL started seeing a real therapist, acted like a decent human being, we had a few nice family dinners, I saw she took a creeper picture of me, that was the last straw, husband and I are finally cutting her out of our lives
