Husband [29M] keeps leaving the kid gates open around the stairs. I [29F] woke up to see [2F] trying to climb down the stairs and he still has not learned.
Hey Dating.mobi. I must admit I don't use this site much. I mainly use it for things like news. I don't like watching the 6pm news when I could be doing more productive things. My apologies if I mess up. First time I've made an account.
My husband and I bought our first house last month. It has two sets of stairs in the house. One of them is like you'd expect as it goes from the ground floor to upstairs. The second set of stairs is the behind door leading to the basement. I had child gates installed around both sets of stairs. My husband seems to have no concept of close the gate behind you or step over it. He leaves the gate open every time he goes through it. I have told him probably a million times to close the gate behind him. I can get home from work, and every last one of the bastards will be open. This is also an issue with the gate to the pool.
This morning my cat woke me up asking for food like she always does early in the morning. I came out of my room to see my daughter standing at the edge of the stairs trying to climb down them. The gate wide open as per usual. It was his turn to put her to bed/get up if she or our son [3 months] wakes up in the middle of the night.
I spoke to him about it this morning, and he still thinks there's not a problem. He's told me that it was a mistake. Do you know how many times I've heard that? Every time he leaves the gate open, which is on a daily basis, it's a mistake. He did it again this morning when he went up the stairs. I'm just starting to have enough. I have no idea what to do anymore to get through to him.
tl;dr: Husband leaves the kid gates open all the time. Had a close call this morning, and he still has not learned.
