Husband of a year [28m] left and isn't talking to me [27f] after I walked in on him doing a weird (possible fetish?) thing.

This'll be short but I'm extremely at a loss on what to do. This was bizarre and I probably reacted all wrong.
I came home unexpectedly early in the afternoon. I'm usually back several hours later as I work 10 hour days typically. He works slightly less hours but is also usually out of the house in the afternoon. So it was odd to see his car already there.
I went in (kitchen door was already unlocked from him) to see him crouched on the floor in the kitchen. He was completely naked, squatting over our cat's food bowl with his face in the bowl. He didn't realize I was there. I was caught way off guard, and unfortunately didn't think to be tactful, I just blurted out, "What the **** are you doing???"
He ****ing jumped a mile. He upended the dish and wet cat food flew across the kitchen. When he saw me he looked completely panicked and yelled at me to get out. But I didn't I was too confused, and here's where I messed up…. "that's so disgusting, what the hell is wrong with you?" Not angry but definitely negative.
After I said that he more or less turned around and went upstairs. I might have also messed up by just staying in the kitchen and cleaning up the spilled cat food, instead of going up after him to talk in a more understanding way. He was down in a minute, dressed, and he ignored me. He went past me and out the side door. When I went to follow him I saw him getting in his car and he drove off.
I've of course tried texting and calling, I left a vm apologizing for my reaction and know I must have made him feel horribly embarrassed. I didn't say this yet but I'm guessing if it's some kind of fetish thing (since he was naked) maybe now I've made him feel like he can't trust me during intimacy. He hasn't responded to anything and his phone is off. I have no idea where he went. It's 11pm and he hasn't come home.
How can I fix this? What should I say, or instead, how much space and time should I give him? I feel like I overreacted and should have talked to him more calmly. How bad did I **** up?
tl;dr: I reacted very judgmentally to catching my husband eating cat food while naked. He left and hasn't come home yet, or responded to any messages I've left him apologizing and assuring him I will listen calmly.

Fuk that!! I would have reacted the same way, probably worse. Good riddens to the idiot. Let him go buy his own cat food from now on, that's just gross.
