ELI5: How can companies give away free products and still make money?

I’ve seen a lot more of this lately where a website is offering a physical product they sell for free. Usually I’d just figure they would bill your credit card for shipping and handling but these places don’t even ask for a credit card.
Sexyliberation.org is a company that gives away free sex toys
Proctor & Gamble will literally send you tons of sample products: https://www.pgeveryday.com/tag/product-samples-offers
I mean, there is an entire Forum Section devoted to companies giving away free things: /r/freebies
How exactly do they make money by just giving stuff away?

Source.

@Critter1211: Here's one....

"Free Volition Beauty Product Samples. Choose From: Mattifying Mist, Restorative Eye Gel, Defense Gel, Brightening Polish or Gelee Mask"

IDK what that is but it sounds girly

@MrWalkSoftly: Lol mist or eye gel sounds good to me. The other night i filled out form after form for free samples online, spent about 45 minutes doing it, just to be sent back to the beginning 4 times. So frustrating. I just wanted some damn coupons lol
