My Take On Comparable Online Dating Sites (by MrWalkSoftly)

I have spent the last couple of days going on a few other sites trying to find any differences, pro or con, as compared to Dating.mobi.
The 3 other sites are very comparable to Dating.mobi in terms of "free" online dating sites. 2 of them, I have had considerable past experience with, and the 3rd, just a cursory look in the past 2 days.
I'll start with the former 2 and I'll report my experience with 5 areas. ....Online Now users, Number of Scammers, Forums, Ease of Use, and Admin Accessibility.

1. Mingle2:

Online Now- There are always plenty of online now users from my country. The issue though, is, with the 2nd point I look at....number of scammers. A conservative estimate would be that 60% of the online now users are romance scammers....it could very well be more.
I found, also, that several other online now users are people who downloaded the app, made the cursory profile with no details, and never log on again.
In general, there is NO way to verify if any profiles are real other than an occasional Captcha use you may go through if you message someone several times in a certain time frame.

Forums- Very similar to Dating.mobi forums except more busy....mainly with users that have been there for years and that's all they use the site for.
Mods are present....but in my past experience there, they were these same veteran users who used to be just regular posters and a bias was present. They were accessible but only in an explanation of the rules capacity....and the interpretation of rules could vary depending on which mod you messaged.
Also, any thread perceived as being a criticism of the site is promptly removed, no matter how slight the criticism

Ease of Use- Clunky as hell from a mobile device standpoint. Too cluttered. Ads abound but that's just the way things are so no knock there.

Admin Accessibility- Slow to respond, if at all. Forum site inquiries usually answered by mods instead of admin.

2. ConnectingSingles:

Online Now- 10-20 from my country depending on the time of day. Several of these seem to be veteran users and newer users don't seem to stick around.
This is no verification process

Number Of Scammers- Not as many as mingle2....they seem to get removed quickly but others quickly replace them. As usual, easy to spot and ignore.

Forums- A handful of veteran users post often. I will also add that these users are mainly not in the U.S. and tend to keep to themselves and their views.
There are mods, but are not made public....but the veteran bias seems to be also present with these phantom mods.

Ease of Use- From a mobile standpoint, Ok at best. Some features available to full site users disappear on the mobile platform....an example would be émoticons not present for mobile forum posts unless the user memorizes the correct term....in full site, there is clickable access to them on every post page.

Admin Access- Virtually non existent in my experience.

3. Mocospace- Admittedly, I've only played around there a couple of days and won't go through the point by point review. But from my short time there, a word that comes to mind is "trashy".
A quick peek at forums and chatrooms revealed vulgar name calling and sexually explicit come ons from guys.
Accessing the site from Chrome tends to be glitchy.
The app is a little better but still leaves a lot to be desired. An Example, not remembering search parameters after viewing a profile.

That leaves us with Dating.mobi.

Online Now- We all know how that is. But I remember the good ol days and that's what we're shooting for again....or, at least, some semblance of that.

Number of Scammers: A few....easy to spot because they can't get verified.
Which leads me to this sites greatest difference between the other 3....A reliable verification system in place.

Forums- They're here, but participation depends upon the site participation issue.

Ease of Use- Undeniably the easy format of all 4 in terms of ease of navigation. Simple layout that anyone should be about to navigate.
Right up there in greatness with the verification process.

Admin Accessibilty- A fully verified user can contact admin and will be contacted in a timely manner.
Site issues addressed in the proper forum sections are also quickly addressed.

The ONLY thing that keeps Dating.mobi from being a great site is lack of users. And, for the life of me, I can't understand why that lack exists.
I will add....one place those other 3 have that IS better than Dating.mobi is ability to post multiple pics on profiles. Other than that, it's not even close.

Just some thoughts I have....feel free to add yours.

I will add a few others I have used...
POF:
Online Now users: There does seem to be a steady amount online often, and in my state, not just my country... so that is a bonus.
Number of Scammers: I haven't run into any in the times I have used the site, but I am sure there are some
Forums: None
Ease of Use: Extremely mobile (with the app) and computer friendly
Admin Accessibility: I have never had an issue and needed one so I am not sure
Other Good Points: More info on profiles, more photos allowed (up to 8 unless you buy their premium), easy to read conversation format on messaging, easier to control who is and isn't allowed to contact you (actually states on profile who is and isn't)
Other Bad Points: you can't talk to both genders and you can't see how they interact with others (like you can with forums)

MeetMe
Online Now users: Always tons, but not necessarily quality people to talk to
Number of Scammers: Quite a decent amount, but easily spotted
Forums: Doesn't have because they have open 'walls' (kind of like facebook) and you can interact that way
Ease of Use: App is decent. Online is not. I have it a 5/10 overall
Admin Accessibility: easy to report things and normally fast to fix problems
Other Good Things: unlimited pictures, can talk to anyone from anywhere if you so choose, can comment on pics and profiles. Friend requests are kinda nice.
Other Bad Things: people can be crude, rude and nasty. No profile restrictions on who can an can't view or message you.

@megsy89: I didn't include POF because, in my mind (fricked up as it may be lol) I don't really include it in the same class as the 4 I did mention.
But I'll summarize time I spent there just for the heck of it....and this is going off memory....Yes more local people but not many I "clicked" with. I'm older so I'm sure there are better options for younger users.
I also had issues with the app and online use remembering my search parameters but it's been awhile since I've used that site, to be fair.

MeetMe I would include in the "types" of sites I'm mentioning. And I agree with you on there not being the types of people I want to be around. Like mocospace, "trashy" comes to mind lol

@MrWalkSoftly: I know it's not totally the same, but I thought it good to throw in the lot

Mocospace is more like a social media thing than a dating site. In Mingle2, the forums are just in my opinion a bunch of a$$holes and only a few good people. I'm Dating.mobi for life

I didn't delve into it enough to see a difference. Went to a 40s chatroom, saw morons cussing and asking for pvssy outright, the rampant use of the n word and that was enough for me.... along with viewing a few profiles of trailer trash girls and their memes.

And a biased, liberal, CA bitch mod.....

I actually saw quite a few news articles where mocospace users were arrested for engaging in sex with underage girls they met on mocospace.

You gotta know who you're talking to. After I left her, I joined mocospace and spent a great deal in the 40'2 chat room. Met some cool people who I'm still friends with today. Yes there are a lot of fack pros and bs going on but not really different from here. It's just a faster pace site.
