Bros, what do you think about getting STD tests at the start of every relationship?

Long story short, been dating this girl. She and I both had previous sexual relationships. I suggested we both get tested for STD's. She refuses, saying I don't trust her. This doesn't make sense to me because it's not about trust. It's about us being sure that we are both clean. She has never had STD tests so far. I'm not sure how to convince her. Not sure what to do. Seems to shame to end an otherwise good relationship over something so small because I do really love her. Am I being reasonable?
