Are you religious? Why? (by Sparky)
I am. I wasn't until around 4 years ago. Long story short, God slapped me around a little, I prayed, God fixed it. I always said that, if I would ever become a christian., I'd be Catholic. His Holy spirit found a way to move me to the faith. Here I am, devout and attending Mass weekly (Sometimes more).
I lived my life in search of a fulfilling religion. I tried many... Shamanism, Wicca, Druidism, ending up an atheist.
But, Gods hand is mighty. I couldn't be happier.

In a way i am , i do not follow any rituals blindly and do not trust in anything which my mind doesn't allow me to . But i don't mind studying religious texts or relying on spiritual knowledge that it has to offer to comfort me .
I believe in my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I'm spiritual, I don't buy into religion and it's man made accompaniments.
@MrWalkSoftly: I am with you there. Having lived with the man behind the pulpit: I despise churches and the people in them. But I still have my faith and my beliefs.
Man can frick up a wet dream....he dang sure can frick up God's message too.
@MrWalkSoftly: it was more the people in the church, less my dad, but I know what ya mean. I have heard too many people twist and turn God's words to fit their narrative
Yea I didn't mean your dad lol...."Man" as in mankind
I have athiests tell me that these suicide bombings abd other evil things are proof God doesn't exist. I point out to them that God can't be blamed for the work of godless monsters who pervert religion for their own ends. It's not just Muslim extremists. Look at Westboro Baptist, the Branch Davidians, or even Warren Jeffs and his LDS "family." My God is a loving God that wants his children to love one another and to live rightand obey his word. I left two churches, one Southern Baptist and one Independent Fundamentalist Baptist. The IFB Baptist church had a bunch of members leave because of arguments over money. The Southern Baptist would rather shut down all youth programs than have a recovering addict as a youth minister. I'd rather read my Bible and commune with God by myself than be around a bunch of "religious" people who just don't get the Lord's word
