Do Away With "New Posts"? (by MrWalkSoftly)

The section, not the actual new posts lol.
Ive noticed that when entering the forums from another part of the site, a user is taken to "new posts".
And there are usually very few of them. On occasion, one even gets a "there are no new posts" message.It makes....for lack of a better phrase...the site look 'less busy' and may turn away newer posters.
If at all possible, use "Today's Posts" as sort of a default instead. If only to make the forums look more active.
It could be a temporary thing until the site picks up.

TIA.

It can be disheartening to see the "no new posts...." message.

@MrWalkSoftly:
Thats a good ideal Rich
It does get annoying sometimes. Like you said alot of times unless people are just posting away on different threads it only shows a few or none on new post. When all we need is todays post to catch all activity on forums

It seems like a good idea. But maybe there's a reason why it can't be done. Hopefully the big guy sees this and looks into it.

Keep in mind that the "New Posts" shows new posts since you last checked, so active Forum users who check the Forums frequently will see less results than a new user or users who don't check the Forums frequently. For example, if one hasn't checked the Forums in 24 hours, then "Today's Posts" and "New Posts" should produce similar results.

If at all possible, use "Today's Posts" as sort of a default instead. If only to make the forums look more active.

Done.

P.S. Moved to "Make a Suggestion". Thanks for the suggestion.
