Child abuse?? No its not abuse, ppl have diffferent views on this, but pageants r fun and can build confidence and self esteem, rather they win or not they learn to participate with others as well as make friends. I say as long as the child is enjoying it then its ok, no different then a boy playing on a baseball team. We all gotta have a hobbie, learn to do our best and accept u win some and u lose some nomatter the activity u choose

I dont think it is as long as its fun for the child. And the parent does not obsess with it.

Personally NO as long as the child as critter mentioned is/ was enjoying the pageant . It will become an abuse if she was forced to join because of the possible " money " she'll get once she'll win and she's not happy of what she's doing . I found them children very very cute and yes , it helps develop their talents & self confidence . I just disagree a bit on putting make up because there are products which isn't good for children's sensitive skin .... IMHO

I dont see the point of doing your kids like that it just make them spoil rotten if they cant get their way or win and start to have a crying fit

I personally dont understand why you would put your child through that but I also dont think its abuse for the most part. Some parents to waaayyy to far with it. I believe once a parent goes that far it turns into abuse. I would never put anyones kid through that.
