I am waiting to bring home my new kitten Penny from a friend/neighbours house. The litter has 3 and they are absolutely crawling in fleas, they are only just coming up to 4 weeks old and its upsetting me because I don't know what to do for her/them. The lady of the house has tons of dogs and cats and leaves back door open for them all day and they are always itching like mad too. What can I do for the kittens to help them because they can't have the flea treatment until 3 months old. I go over and see her a lot to help wean her but its not great seeing those disgusting things crawling all over her. Anyone got any advice. Thanks.

@VampDoll: The best thing to do would be to take the poor thing to a vet. Theres ways they can do things at a young age for those little guys

Well I can't take them to the vets because technically she isn't mine until she is home and settled plus I'm good friends with the lady I'm getting her off, so I don't want to offend her or anything. The other two little boy kittens are being taken by a friend of mine so they are coming to mine for a week first, hopefully in two weeks so as soon as I can I'm wanting to get rid of the fleas. What's dawn dish soap ?

Its an american brand of dish soap. Anyway give it a bath. And get wet food take fresh garlic and crush a little each day and mix it in with the food. It also helps with mesquitos. Even for people a fresh garlic clove stops mesquitos from biting. And your cat has my first name.

.....Vamp, google search Dawn Dish Soap. Then go to your store and look for it. If its in germany where my best friend lives, it should be in the UK.

Yeah will try that thanks.
And she is called Penny because I already have two boys called sheldon and leonard. Off the characters from one of my favourite shows :-)

If you can remove the kittens and the mother. That many fleas can kill kittens that young from blood lose. And give them regular baths. Change/clean any regular sleep spots. Vaccuum the spots they lay down on the most. I hope u can do something for them cause fleas are dangerous to kittens that young.

I'm weaning them to get them home to me asap to tend to them. One of the litter actually died because the mum rejected it. The mum isn't near them now but until I get them to mine doing anything would be in vain because its there environment, I bought them a new blanket for their box.

@VampDoll: ok well check their gums asap. If they are pale or white its not a good sign. It means their getting anemic from the fleas draining too much blood.
