Christmas Eve, 1968, snowing.. My parents told me to wait outside for my grandparents. And there in the dark,my dad's parents were carrying, on their heads, a giant "boat sled". It was navy blue plastic & big enough for myself & my two sisters.(It even had 3 sets of handles) It had a long cord, & my mom pulled us to school, to the store & everywhere in it. Every kid in the neighborhood envied us. But the memory of my grandparents walking in the snow, with it on their heads, is a memory I cherish.

@rulost2: That is comical :-), I just hope your children don't associate Santa with an ambulance or flashing lights.. Jk

My childhood years, when my Grandfather was still alive and my Grandmother was healthy. Every year the entire family met for Thanksgiving over their house and after eating, names were picked. Then back on Christmas Eve for the gifts. You had one to give and got one from who-ever got your name. It was always great.
