We will soon be requiring everyone to Confirm their E-mail Addresses (by Andres)
Update: This has now gone into effect.
Hi Folks,
Just a quick note to let everyone know that we will soon be requiring everyone to confirm their e-mail addresses.
We've been very lax about the e-mail confirmations as we know it can be a hassle, especially on mobile phones, but it's starting to create problems for us. For one, users with multiple accounts are just entering fake e-mail accounts during registration. Also, the new E-mail Service Provider we use is very strict about compliance and penalizes us if we send too many e-mails to non-existent addresses, so we need to start doing what every other site does and require everyone to confirm their e-mail address.
Once this requirement is in place, your account will be in read-only mode until you confirm your e-mail address. Simple instructions will be provided to help you do that if you have not already done so and should take a minute to complete. If you have already confirmed your e-mail address, then this won't affect you at all.

You should have received an automated e-mail with a confirmation link when you first registered. If you can't find it, instructions will be provided on how to send a new one after the requirement goes into effect.
@Andres: Ok, just don't think I received that wen I deleted n re-joined. I think probs were being had with the email provider then.
Possibly, or it may have landed in your Spam folder.
Folks, we definitely do not want our e-mails ending up in people's spam/junk mail folders, so please let us know if they are!

Im using an amazon kindle for internet, first generation, and it cant follow the link in the email. I have the confirmation code written down though, so is there another way I can confirm it?
I found it. I had to access my email provider website to do so. Usually emails are sent directly to my fone. That one and a couple others didn't for some reason. But I'm confirmed now
Is there a way to tell if we already have it confirmed? Since I'm a relatively "senior" member to this site I might have already confirmed it. Idk if there is a way to tell if I'm confirmed tho.
Strange, that's the first time I hear our confirmation link doesn't work on a device. What happens when you click on it? I'll make sure an alternative method is available when this goes into effect just to be safe.
OK, good, so it wasn't in the SPAM folder.
Not right now, but you'll when when the requirement goes into effect. If you're not, it'll take you a minute to confirm, so don't worry about it.
