Viewing my past Threads & Post (by tractorjohn)

Whenever I go to view my past threads & post that I made, it first shows how many pages are available to view. But when I click the "Last" page icon I receive a message saying I have no post or threads to view, and I can only view my pages one at a time. I have also notice this on User's profiles that I have viewed as well.

I had a look at this and I think I see what the problem is. When you have thousands of posts, the Forum script doesn't actually generate the last page of results when you view the first page, so when you try to go directly to the last page, its says there are no results because they haven't been generated yet. I played around with it and to get to the final page of your results, I actually had to go incrementally, about 5 pages at a time (page 5, then 10, then 15, etc.). Also, the Forum script limits the search results to 500 results, so even then, it will stop you around page 20 since there are 25 results to a page. Unfortunately, that's a limitation of the external Forum script we use, and I can only surmise that it does it this way in order to reduce the load on the server.

What I can do on our end is remove the "Last>>" link for users who have so many posts since it won't work directly anyway. I'll continue to investigate this to see if I can come up with a better solution within the constraints of the Forum script, but at least I've found the cause. I'm juggling several things at the moment, so I can't promise to fix this right away, but I've added it to the To-Do list so I don't forget.

@Andres: Thanks for your prompt attention to this matter. I was just looking to see when my first post was & what I said, you know just for old time sakes & memory lane as well.
