Ladawn wanted me to ask if there is a reason why her dunce is still in effect when the other 3 that were dunced with her are un-dunced. She also just noticed that, on her dunce page, it said it wld last until Nov 29th...Shes a premium member.....and assumed it wld be lifted today.

Im assuming he gave her the penalty for a second dunce and didnt realize shes premium.....but I dont know for sure.

Ya know I have been mulling this over in my mind the last few days.. I really need to say that it almost seems as if Andres truly has a few members that he is harder on for some reason-possibly because they have been here so long and he has preconceptions to their behavior and is quick to dunce them because of past infractions? Just my opinion, and I also must add that I would hate to be the one to judge what deems duncing someone, so I am not taking sides...I do think Jla should at least get a month free premium for this oversight, regardless of whether it was just that-a mistake:)

That's correct. Since the benefit of having all dunces limited to 24 hours is a Premium perk I added, it's not built into the Forum software, so I have to manually clear any Premium user's previous infractions before handing out a new one to avoid them serving an automatic sentence longer than 24 hours. I didn't recall previously duncing LaDawn under her new account, so I didn't even bother to check whether she had any infraction points as I just assumed she didn't. I'm going to have to find a way to hack the Forum software to somehow automate this perk to keep this from happening again.

I'm telling u I shld be on the payroll! I have definitely been on the receiving end of figuring out enuff ways the system needs tweaking. Thanks for the dunce lift Andres but I do have a question. You see the reports so u know that I don't report very often...I am truly baffled that what I do report that is direct name calling and attacks does not receive your attention. You can imagine my confusion when I make a post intimating that some one is undignified in their posts I am dunced when a report I personally made against a user directly calling someone a dumb*ss or retarded is not dunced. Can you tell me how the reports work so that I don't feel like my dunces are quite so personal. Is it because I change names so that I am considered a 'new user' by the system and my reports are not given the same weight as another more 'established' users?

Reports come through in the order they are made, nothing else affects their visibility. However, sometimes I get swamped with reports, and don't make it through all of them, and by the next day, the old ones won't even pop up anymore since I do a daily filter for today's reports when I check them. It's far from a perfect system, but I unfortunately cannot spend too much time dealing with reported posts since that's not actually adding or fixing anything on the site. I prefer to spend time fixing things and working on new features. However, I might take a break to check out the reported posts and suddenly start handing them out like candy like I did yesterday where I dunced 5 people in one go.

You guys have to understand, we wouldn't be having any of these discussions about who was dunced, who wasn't, who should've been, and who shouldn't have been, if everyone simply respected the rules. Over 90% of dunces are for personal attacks. Just stop hating on each other so much and there will be less dunces for you guys, less unproductive work me, less scared off newbies, less discussions about dunces, and everybody wins.
