Well I pulled in to ole Langley town lord knows how long its been since I seen home. I get out of the ole pickup and walk into the bar to escape the cold air it good to be home I think to my self as I take in the smoke and the smell of cheap booze. I belly up to the bar light a smoke and wait for the barkeep.well here you come girl lord knows time aint changed you at all. You give me a smile and a hug say it been far to long since last we saw eachother. You take my order a glass of Jim Beam as you pour the drink i think last I saw your face mine was coverd in tears from your goodbye. I ask why your workin in this dive you say the babies need fed and Johnnie got laid off from the factory. I drink a few more drinks play some old songs in the old Wurlitzer the crowd starts to fade away. I ask you to dance and you say yes as I hold you close to me those old feelins start coming back to me. Oh how i wanna kiss you but knowing better due to that gold band on your finger i hold my impulses in. Your perfume is intoxicating your embrace addictive but like a good line of cocaine I know better than to partake. finally the song has ended i roll one more smoke give you one last hug. walk out the door gettin in the pickup to go to mama s with tears in my eyes and George Strait on my ears I think it s a hell of a heartbrokken homecomin.
