In my room / middle of the night / I put on my dancing shoes. / Wrap the cloth / around my toes / and stretch into the tunes. / A twirl, a twist / a rise / through solid bones. // A leap landing feathery to the fractured ground / Dragging slightly on sand swept stitled floors / Booming the maddening screams of bleeding twisted toes. // Viola sings / A glorious sound / Haunting each tip of body. / Sways her wings / brushing the air, fluttering / softly in shape. // Cackling faces clunk in circles waving to the night. / Black-eyed, she slips and slides upon the blooming Lily Calla, / sliced in shreds at her feet, floating / From broken bodies like spirits riding air / into a cracked crimson sunrise...
