What word or words can you come up with for the meaning of what the day is to you

Its Just another day really

Sacrifice
it is the one word above all that stands out for me.
because so many have sacrificed their lives to give us the country we now have.

@justin01: their has been so meaning that has fought for are country. To keep are independents I was their and I still like to give thanks to the ones before me and the ones who are still to come

@cgdean77: "American Revolution ", because we have our freedom, because we decided we have the right to revolt. To govern ourselves. To own land..... Without that mindset my ansestors, would have never come here. Like most Americans...we came from some where else :)

Well I was gonna say something like that, but all Americans see it as is a day off from work and a chance to cookout and party, independence day has lost its meaning overtime @cgdean77:

@justin01: Sad but true. Dangerous isn't it. ? A day off & a burger ? Where are we headed ? Who could be the new King of England.... That would/could cause a....whatever ( again) & where? Just something to think about...
