Parenting classes (by Briteeyes)
Its Tennessee law now that in order to get a divorce with children both parents attend a parenting class. Do u think that should be required even if the child is 17 years old? Or is it just another way for them to make money?
My opinion is that its a great idea ! Maybe even some of the best parents can take SOMETHING away from the experience! Even if their child is seventeen maybe they can pass that info on to their children as new parents if or when the kids become parents themselves!
But what accomadation do they make for the parents that file for divorce and the absentee parent can't be found?!?
Not sure about this one. I would think the absent parents wouldn't have any rights till classes were complete. Getting a divorce without the other person to sign is hell...so I don't know how that's handled. I just don't think I need a class on my childs developmental stages when he's less then a year from being an adult. I mean that's not the only topic but it focuses on "young children" and how to get them to adjust to the transition
