The phone verification system is only guaranteed to work with numbers in the US. However, we've seen it work with several other countries including the UK, Spain, India, Hong Kong, Philippines, Kenya, Zimbabwe, and Nigeria, so it definitely works internationally, but it won't work with all international providers.

Also, always make sure that the country where your mobile phone number is located matches the country in your profile or it will not verify.

@Andres: if this number verification works in most countries like nigeria why is my own not been verified, bcoz I'm from nigeria. I've sent it with the code three times now and uptil now it has not been verified. Or do you selet people you verify their phone numbers. And leave other with an embrassing message that this person want your to be verified before you can send him or her a message

Ok thank you it has been verified. And I will like to say let those two verification numbers be shown to people so that they can try the two which ever one that goes
