Can someone tell me why people desire honest and truthful people and when one is standing right there in from of them,they are so intent on their search that they turn and abuse the same people who would have fulfilled their dream?

I dated a lady sometime back. I am not perfect and I am not trying to be self righteous. I really loved her,was true,faithful and as caring as my means afforded me. But do you know what? She cheated on me. After being begged I forgave her since we were both christians and the Bible urges us to. Guess what? She cheated on me again.

I wonder the same thing. I've been abused in every way possible since I got married in August. I finally gathered the courage to walk out right before Christmas and have since filed for divorce and have not looked back once.

i was abused in every way possible while i was married and even in a couple of relationships since then. i have since then been able to notice the signs within the first couple of dates, have taken self defense and even active in maritial arts now so i know how to take care of myself if anyone ever lays a hand on me again. i dont like being used and abused and will walk away when signs appear, i guess that is why i have remained mostly single for so many years because i refuse to be a loosers doormat and punching bag.
