Does long distance relationships work? (by fishyfishys)
I was just wondering what people think; do they think long distance relationships will really work?
No amount of time apart or distance can extinguish the flames burning in the hearts of those that know true love
It all depends on the people and how soon you can meet. I've done long distance dating many times. If it lasts more than a month or 2 without you seeing them its gonna get harder to make the relationship work. Long distance dating is better to get to know the person and see if you would like to move where they are to be with them. The sooner u can meet the better it will work out in my experience.
In my opinion, long distance only works for me, if it starts off the normal way. Like if we meet somewhere and spend alot of time together and are in love before we are seperated by distance. In that case, yes I think it can work.
However, for me personally, I don't think a relationship that starts long distance can survive, if it stays long distance. For one, there are just somethings you can't know about someone without physically spending time with them. Another reason, is that I need to have some kind of physical contact, and connection in order for a relationship to work. I can't be in a relationship forever, with someone who can't hold me, kiss me, or cuddle with me. Keep in mind, this is ONLY my opinion.

It takes trust to do this kind of relationship. It has to be an absolute trust in both partners. I just dont see this as a relationship at all. Because todays society does have alot of trust issues.
@fishyfishys: I never did, but I met the man of my dreams on here and we are taking it one step at a time. I wish he were here and I miss him so much, but I think we can some day make it work. I am hopeful
