The beginning of the track "Darkness Incarnate" has a spoken word piece by children even says "Something thicker than despair, rides upon the midnight air. The smell of blood, the taste of prey, we spy you hiding, Gilles de Rais." And the album cover shows the progression of Gilles' descent into madness.
