Disability check (by hollabak89)

I found out that I qualify for disability. I have ADD, ADHD and OCD & also been diagnosed with schitzo. (not sure how) How the hell am I disabled tho? I work 2 jobs (one which is a self owned business) and seem to be doing them just fine. It's amazing what can qualify you for a welfare check. Explains our economy well.

Being a nurse, i can tell u that alot of ppl diagnosed with those disorders arent as functional in the outside world such as you are. Its also possible that u hv been mis diagnosed. With the proper meds, most will be able to function with no problem, but with the "schitzo" as u put it, well that depends on the severity of it even if ur on meds for that. Considering all uve been diagnosed with and im presuming u just found this all out, which means u hvnt had to rely on meds to be a self sufficent man on ur own...then i wud say u dnt hv all those disorders. The main one id be concerned with is the schitzo, and the ocd. The other 2 shudnt play a factor in determining disability, but idk. Get a second opinion...not for the money, lol but for ur own peace of mind. I wud do this b4 i take any possible meds prescribed.

I was diagnosed with all at age 10. Never took meds a day in my life. I am basically living proof that most doctors are full of sh*t.

i hate to say it but ur rite, and thats why i said get a second opinion. so u were diagnosed with all of these at age 10? if u hvnt taken meds then as i mentioned in my first reply...not all ppl can function w/o meds. u are obviously one that can. and again, as i stated earlier...it all depends on the severity of it. the ADD & ADHD can actually be controlled somewhat by your healthy eating habits...no meds required. U know the sad thing about this, is some ppl actually use those things to collect a ck when they are jus as much able to wrk and function as well as you and i both.

Yea, i know wat u mean gf. I hv a friend that suffers from manic depressive bp disorder and she has yet to get the first disability ck for this. Another friend has bp and he collects every month and is no where near the condition as she is. The system is screwed up no doubt! Go figure!
