I work at a food bank, and i was just wondering if any people out there donate food or clothes to shelters ? Especially at this time of year as we grow closer to christmas. Of course help is needed and welcomed all year round.

Yep i help organize our food drive with our JROTC program for our Veterans. We also have a coat drive at the high school and i deliever them to low income family's the first week in December. And i have a tradition of getting what we call an Angel off the Angel Tree in town, and thats where u sponsor a child and make sure they have a Christmas. This is my best part of year cuz i love helping and seeing others smile for what seems to be the simpliest things we take for granted each day

I have been doing this for a long time myself ,and i have to agree its my favorite time of the year as well to see someone especially at christmas time... be warm , fed , clothed. And to see the smiling faces on children from our toy drives knowing they will have something to open christmas morning. So i tip my hat to you and thank you! for helping in your own way. Shawn.

Thanks :) One of my best memories tho is buying stuffed animals and having my children when they were lil jus walk up to a child in a parking lot and give it to them for no reason. Jus because its the giving season. Seeing the smile on those kids face then seeing the smile on my child's face cuz he made someone feel good....is PRICELESS

You are so right , i wrap toys according to gender and age as well as delivery , last year i gave a lot of toys to my local grocery store for single moms and dads to give their kids a little extra something as well , but i only do that if there a big abundance of toys left over .

I absolutely agree ! & its the best Christmas gift for us parents as well . Teaching our children to impart goodness and to share happiness is indeed the best part of being a parent :)
