Memories (by MissNicole2)

I was just going through photos and found some from the farm in Texas. I remember trips with my grandfather. After he helped raise me, I took care of him until he passed away a couple years ago. My last visit to the farm was to do exactly what he asked. Get the big, heavy rock his mom carved into the shape of texas and put it on his grave. :) He never did believe in life being easy. And I am so glad he raised me to think the same. Makes me take nothing for granted. He is the man that all guys will get compared to. Because he was a man who was everything a southern gentleman, or any gentleman for that matter, should be. Women loved him. He was my grandfather, my stand in dad, and my best friend. And like his favorite poem says to do, I do not mourn his death. I do not try to imagine his birth. I think of the dash in between those dates. I love good memories.
