this calls for honest introspection...in my opinion, ppl who have to resort to virtual dating or online social networking are mostly failures in their real social lives...mainly those who get sort of addicted and spend long hours eg. In forums etc...is this only my opinion? And pls, no defamation suits....

For me yes its only ur opinion. Im not rejected in the real world. I was on a 2 day weekend last weekend and was still on Dating.mobi. I think its a matter of who u wanna spend ur time with, i can have pricks out here, or people (a few pricks) on here. I choose Dating.mobi cuz theirs more then one convo going on

Nope, I'm not a reject at all. Actually have a friend I've known for years confess she wanted to be with me but she's like a sister so don't want to ruin our friendship. Also have others wanting to be with me after they found out I was getting divorced but they're not my type and to be honest, I come to the conclusion I enjoy being single. Just here for friends

i didnt mean failures in finding partners, but a general lack of friends and no better things to do in life...socially inhibited and those who find it easier expressing themselves online than in d real world...just tell me, which person who does something worthwhile or has a good standing in his social circles has ever visited a dating site?

I'm still not a reject in those aspects either. Lol. I just believe you can never have too many friends. What does it matter where you meet them. I also have made friends via chat on yahoo messenger, venturing on FB and on Craigslist. It doesn't make you a reject to reach out to ppl.

I agree with briteeyes. To me this is just another form of meeting people to date. There a rejects in real life who wont ever go online to find someone, just as there are great people who will try online dating. You would be very surprised at some of the people who seem like rejects on here but really not in their real lives and vice versa. I just think some people are much more laid back and can show their behinds here more than in real life lol Anyway, for those who arent currently searching for dates, it's another source of communication through their mobile phone.

People are on social network sites or dating sites for various of reasons.I wont say they are failures in the real world. They might be an invalid, bedridden in an institution, have no family or friends, they might be in foreign countries etc....So for whatever reasons people are on the internet this virtual world might be there only way of communication with real people irrespective the people are in a virtual world....

@Briteeyes: well madam, i may be beginning to think so after 2 weeks of logging in here...i just spend time here which i dont think i shud really be doing...bcoz i think i vud slowly disconnect frm my sorroundings and frnds, and become oblivious to them...so with that in mind, i will be closing down my account soon, and may never again try a dating site..no thats not bcoz i cudnt find any1...but i still think ppl are really forcing themselves to think that they r still good in their real lives inspite of spending hours on such platforms...
