Rand burst through the front door,finally at home startling everbody as lighting crashed and the lights flickerd."Verna ,emily grab some towels and stir the fire!" Rand bellowed like a drill sargent,as he gently laid lacey on the sofa. Verna shuffled off to go for the towels.Emily hollered for Kade" Go get some of mommas clothes" Mattie stared at emily wide eyed." Kade! Do what she said,Now! "What in the world was she doing out in this toad strangler? Verna wrapped a towel aroind laceys hair."Dang if I know,but I almost hit her out there,got the damn truck buried too." Rand replied,he was just a little cranky after packing her almost a Quarter mile home,he was soaked clear to bone." Daddy?" Mattie tugged at rands coat,"Is she going to stay with us,like rambles?" Rand didn't know what to say,rambles was a stray pup that wandered up to the house one day,everybody grew attached to rambles,but lacey wasn't a stray,they were going to find out where she came from just as soon as she woke up.
