So while my first post didn't get much traction a few people did ask for an update so here it is.
Daisy decided that she couldn't hide what happened between us and wanted to tell Ashley and apologize, so she decided to face time her and come clean, I respected her decision and supported her. Fully thinking that after she came clean I would take as much responsibility as possible and try and shift blame from Daisy to me, to hopefully avoid to much family conflict.
I actually was ready to quit my job (I had my two weeks resignation typed up and ready to send) so that I could put some space Between me and Daisy and she could keep some semblance of a normal life while she and he family worked through this. It was by far the hardest decision of my life and while I was waiting for the fallout I spiralled into a pretty deep depression.
Well Daisy let me know before she FaceTimed her sister and it was probably the worst hour of my life. After Daisy got off the phone she came over to my place, crying and absolutely ****** off. When I opened the door my heart broke. The first words out of her mouth were 'they all fcking knew' at first I was scared shtless having no idea how they could possibly know we hooked up, then I was very confused. She broke down crying and I did my best to comfort her.
After calming down she explained to me what she meant. Apparently Ashley and her family figured out a while ago that me and Daisy had pretty strong feelings for each other and had been expecting us to announce that we were dating for a while.
Daisy and I made it no secret that we were working together and had become close friends over the last few years. Apparently her whole family knew we both had strong feelings for each other long before we admitted it to ourselves or each other.
As far as Daisy and Ashley's relationship, after Daisy came clean Ashley admitted that at first she was really hurt and angry but as time went on and Daisy and I remained close friends, she slowly became comfortable with it and eventually was happy that we both found someone that makes us as happy bad we are.
The last few days have been incredible, it's like a huge weight has been lifted from my shoulders and I'm happier than ever. Daisy and I are still figuring things out and are taking them slow. As a few commenters have suggested we are thinking about couples counseling, but have both started independently seeing therapist to sort through this mess.
TL;DR: dated a girl all through college, after a few years working closely with her twin sister and becoming close friends we hooked up and admitted our feelings for each other. When she broke the news to her sister, it turns out the whole family had assumed that things would go this way for awhile.
