When was a time you tried to do something new and thoughtful and it turned into a series of unfortunate events?

One time I decided to surprise my partner in the dead of winter by showing up at his place with some lingerie underneath my big winter parka and nothing else. I thought it would be super sexy for him to take my coat and there i'd be, ripe for the pickin'...
Except he failed to tell me that he'd invited his brother and friend over with their respective girlfriends for some games and evening snacks with us. He kept offering to take my coat and i'd awkwardly say "naw im good" and try to sneak off to the bedroom to find some casual clothes. Everyone thought I was a big weirdo walking around the kitchen in my heavy puffer jacket making casual conversation and ignoring my boyfriends pleas to take my coat. When I finally escaped to his bedroom to find some of my "weekend clothes" i had stored at his place, he came in and asked me why I was being so awkward. I grumpily took my coat off, and when he saw me in my stockings and garters he couldn't stop laughing for about an hour.
The rest of the evening was spent trying to avoid the "whats so funny?" questions from his family and friends every time he'd catch my eye.
