Why is it that when I reject a girl's offer, I'm assumed to be gay? (by Sparky)

Why is it that when I reject a girl's offer, I'm assumed to be gay?

This is rather annoying to me. A cute girl would show up on someone's snapchat story while I'm with a group of guys. As a joke, they would do " smash or pass". I would say pass and the next thing they would ask is "Are you gay?". Another scenario is if I don't want a girl touching me or I simply ignore their advances at a party or something like that, the guys and the girls start asking if I'm gay or just say "you're gay aren't you?" Why can't it be that I'm just not interested at the moment or the girl is not my type?
