Would you rather grow an inch shorter every time you farted in someone else's presence, or grow an inch taller every time you sneezed in someone else's presence?

If you shrank enough, you'd eventually be subject to the physical issues of extremely small people. There'd be a lower limit past which you couldn't live. If you grew tall enough, the health risks of extreme height would eventually be yours.
Edit: leaving the room for another, empty room would be enough to fend off the effects.
Edit for emphasis: if you grew substantially taller, you'd suffer all the same health problems as the humans who've who've grow that far.
