How can a guy that?s not a neckbeard get better at getting dates?

Whenever a guy seems to ask about how to get better at dating often it seems like its more along the lines of be physically active, don?t live in parent?s basement, go outside, bathe yourself, be able to exist in a room with women without spontaneously combusting, not dying of singleness, and some other stuff. (Exaggerating just a bit)
Not that people don?t have more general life issues or need help/advice on dealing with them, but there seems to be plenty of guys that have an otherwise great life going for them that really struggle with dating. Like advice tends to be ?treat women like a human? which isn?t helpful to guys that are more than capable of being friends with women. There isn?t much advice for a guy that might be able to have an engaging conversation with women but get completely lost going beyond a completely platonic interaction. Any good advice for those kinds of guys?
