Tonight is college football's championship game between Alabama & Georgia.
Me myself, I'm pulling for Georgia to win.
Who do you think will win?

Gone back and forth in my head about who'll win...can't pin it down.
If it was played last week, I'd give the edge to Bama simply because Saban is tough to beat with several weeks to prepare.
On the other hand, Georgia had a very emotional win in the semis....are they still drained from it?
If Georgia can run the ball, they win....if not, Bama wins.

Don't really have a dog in this hunt, just gonna enjoy the game....but if pressed to pick who I'm pulling for, I'll lean slightly Bama because my local high school has had a few players go on to play there.

One other thing.....this past week isn't like a usual game week where teams have several days to prepare. Early travel and media appearances take up alot of time.
Georgia hasn't experienced this before, Bama has....several times.

@MrWalkSoftly:

Yes Bama most definitely has the experience but, I'm still hoping Georgia wins because they haven't won the national championship in 20 yrs and I usually want the lesser experienced team to win 99% of the time. I do have a bad track record of picking the losing team in these situations.

Just saw on ESPN Gameday a ticket at about the 50, 15 or so rows up was $13, 000. Those people are nuts....

@MrWalkSoftly:

I think that if Georgia & Alabama had met in the SEC championship game the loser may not have made the playoffs and their spot probably would have gone to Ohio State.

I think it would've depended on who won, and by how much.
If Bama would've made the SEC champ game, they would've been undefeated at that point, and a close loss would've still got them in....with only one loss vs Ohio State's 2, and one of those being to a lowly Iowa.
If Georgia wouldve lost, it would be whether their 2 losses to Bama and Auburn were better or worse than Ohio State's 2 losses to OU and Iowa.
Of course, we could go to a 6 or 8 team playoff and end the speculation.

@MrWalkSoftly:

Here's what confuses me, how come the smaller schools like James Madison's level have a playoff system but the bigger schools don't? Don't they all play the same amount of regular season games? If so, why is it too many games for the bigger schools but not for the smaller universities? And an off topic question that I have had for yrs is why is Alabama's mascot an Elephant?

@DearJohn: Some reporter back decades ago wrote something about the football team running onto the field like a "herd of elephants" or something like that....and it stuck.
