Does any one have children here? I have a son yet I'm still pro choice. My son is my world but I've had severely hard times, was diagnosed with post natal depression and have been bringing him up alone for nearly 7 years. There is no way I'm having another baby by myself! But I'm responsible and use one of the best forms of contraception, the coil. Oh and recently, nearly 8 months, I've abstained, which is the best form of birth control. But I could never do it alone again, I know that completely.

I like how the women only gets the blame. To be honest, I think a man should only have a say if he has been put in that situation. Its more acceptable for a man to go round making women pregnant all over and walking away from the children buts its bad when a women makes a decision to stop a pregnancy before she's just another statistic and actually left alone. Abortion isn't just black and white, wrong or right. its complicated.

Yeah i've got a 3 month old son and my gf had several miscarriages before we had him so it just baffles me how any woman can be so selfish and cruel to kill a baby just because she doesnt feel like having one . But fair enough accidents can and do happen and women end up pregnant unexpectedly but in my opinion if that woman then decides she wants to terminate the pregnancy then it should come with the condition that she has to get her tubes tied aswell .

Well we will have to agree to disagree on that one. Not all women who chose abortion, yet haven't been raped, should be made out to be unfeeling baby killers. There are so many more valid reasons not to see a pregnancy through. But the ones with no respect for the lives they have already brought into the world should have their tubes tied, the same as a man who has baby after baby he doesn't bother with, should get the snip.
And paedophiles should be castrated.

I am a mother and I STRONGLY DISAGREE abortion . There's no valid reason for me even if I was a rape victim ( I'll seek justice but never kill my unborn child) or been diagnosed for whatever illness that may affects the unborn child . It's murder , worst form of murder for me .

If a woman is unprepared to take care of another's life then don't spread her legs ...

If abortion is so wrong then why is it so available. You can get in trouble for helping a sick person end their life but you can't for abortion. Why is it even around at all if its so wrong?
Also I'd be devastated to grow up and learn I was the product of rape. And also if I had a daughter and she comes to me and says she wants one or had one behind my back, should I disown her then.
Its such a complicated thing and not really a subject anyone can sit on the fence about.
But it makes a good debate. I respect people have different opinions even if I don't agree with them. Also respect someone being an adult and discussing it and other important things, in a civilised manner

Well i'd want to get the snip myself if i was getting loads of different women pregnant and i'd want to get myself checked out at the nearist gum clinic after sleeping around unprotected so much :p . And yeah your right pedos should get castrated but that probably wouldnt help though cuz i think its more of a mental thing with them sick ****s . And @ butterfly pmsl thats funny lol

I dont feel abortion should be a form of birth control however i think it should be the womans choice in cases such as rape or medical necessity....

Well abortion isent available in ireland which is good but still loads of women travel over to england every year to have one which is bad cuz even rape victims have to do that

I do feel very strongly that sex education should be in all schools and taught well and us as parents open to discussing it with our children and not spouting at them bollicks about storks and babies getting left on doorsteps. The older your child gets the more you can tell them. My son is nearly 7 and I tell him when a man and women love each they have special cuddles in private, and a women has a baby in her belly which then comes out of her flower. I wouldn't go into all the details, but tell him a bit more about it as he gets older.
Maybe if people were properly educated about birth control, then abortion would be the absolute last resort, instead of a fast solution.
