2017 College Football Season Long Thread (by MrWalkSoftly)
My favorite time of the year is fast approaching. Less than 6 weeks until the 2017 College Football season kicks off!
I'll be posting the AP poll each week, and then the College Football Playoff poll when it starts being released.
My early predictions on Power 5 conference championships:
SEC- Alabama. Until someone knocks them off, it's hard to pick against them
ACC- FLA ST.
B10- OHIO St....ugh
PAC 12- USC
B12- OKLAHOMA.
Big games in the 1st week:
Texan A&M vs UCLA
LSU vs BYU
Tennessee vs Georgia Tech
Florida vs Michigan
And if a game could be a national championship matchup in week 1, this is it...Alabama vs FLA ST.
Stay tuned for any news and reports as the the kick-offs get closer.
Post your favs and predictions also.
Let's go and GEAUX TIGERS!!

Probably the biggest news so far is the "resignation" of Hugh Freeze... head coach of the troubled Ole Miss program....can't have escort agencies phone numbers on the college phone

@MrWalkSoftly:
I wonder why he didn't use his own personal cellphone to call them

@DearJohn: Because he was so egotistical, he didn't care.
@MrWalkSoftly:
Didn't he say he dialed the wrong number & didn't ESPN report that the call only lasted for one minute? Plus didn't the university says he made other calls to similar places as well?

I don't think any of that really matters. Ole Miss is hoping, that now, with Freeze gone, the NCAA will go easier on them in the upcoming hearing.
This is more of a "straw that broke the camel's back" thing to me. We'll see if the NCAA hits em...and how hard. Ole Miss has a self imposed bowl ban for this year, but that might not be enough to escape the NCAA wrath. Things have been shady there for awhile now..

Im wondering how Oklahoma goin to do without Stoops. this new coach looks promising though
That's why I'm just a touch shaky on them. Still think they win the B12....but miss the playoffs...again.
And I look for K ST to be a spoiler for someone....they get Baylor, TCU, WV, AND the Sooners at home....tough place to play.

I don't know what NCAA is saying the university did wrong

Haven't had the hearing yet... this is from a week or so ago....before Freeze's latest fiasco...
""Freeze took some pluralized credit for the NCAA violations that have occurred under his watch, part of a case that is expected to result in a hearing in September and a final decision by November. But he also lamented the issues that have dogged his time in Oxford since the moment he arrived""
