What's a random fact about your dad? (by Sparky)

My dad was a tough s.o.b. too. While he wasn't a soldier (much respect for those who were and are) he had his legs crushed by a two thousand pound block of steel on the job. Doc said he'd never walk again... He walked out of the hospital a couple months later and never let it slow him down. He also, because of a drunk coworker, lost his pointer and bird fingers on his left hand. Again, never bothered him. He taught me to give pain the finger... Literally, lol.
While most will look at the physical toughness he showed, I'm more impressed with the mental toughness needed to not give a damn about what others said he wouldn't be able to do, then proving them wrong.

@MrWalkSoftly: absolutely! He was a hard headed f**k, lol. I miss him. Died at 77 in prison, of lung cancer, for dwi (I know that drunk driving is horrible, but who puts a 75 year old man in prison for a non violent crime?) (Sorry, still bitter. Lol)

My dad was a lady's man. He could make any woman fall for him, he just had IT. He was a strong, hard working man that captured the hearts of many.

My dad was one of the first Americans to cross the bridge at Remagen in Germany in WWII.

He passed in '08. I still have his medals....

My Dad was a Helicopter pilot in vietnam. He got shot down twice. Once bringing in supplys to the Ho Chi minh trail camp and the other time picking up wounded in Laos when the US invaded Laos. He did two tours
Also impressive

@rulost2: being a heli pilot in nam had to have been Hell. You would have had to have had balls of steel to do that job. Respect!
