Unieversity of Mississippi took down its state flag due to it being congederate imagery. The civil war was not fought over slavery,it was fought over whether a state should n could secede from the union! Comments r very welcome!

@wolfsbane: yep was expecting them to do that anyways after all they got rid of the mascot the old colonel reb. I dont think the whole state of mississippi will do away with the confederate flag. The strange thing of it ole miss mascot now is the black bear '" go figure " you know the NAACP is saying its racial aint that kinda calling the frying pan black because they are the only ones that is anachronistic racial. First its the confederate statues and now the flag whats next dig up the confed

It is a reminder that the civil war tore our nation apart n we should nevet ever let our nation be torn apart like that again!!

@wolfsbane: yeah but the thing is the civil war was in the early 1860s 4yrs of brother against brother now its 2015 and people still want let it die. Here i pass the graves of the men who lost their lives every day as a reminder its so sad. Mostly like i said in last post its the NAACP who want let it go. I read today that BUKA OKOYE ( i know what a name right ) he is the president of the schools NAACP chapter was in process of organizing a march but they beat him to it and took the flag down but he still wanted to stir up sh!t. Smfh. Maybe one day we will live in peace with gods help but as long as we have people like that racism will be here
