The first petit, plus size model has been hired by a major fashion house in Italy. She is 5'5" and a size 22. She has been heralded as a pioneer for plus sized models as well as criticized for being unhealthy by her detractors. What is your opinion?

@ramblinman: I say bravo for her & the agency that hired her. It is about fr*cken time, that models & advertising realize, women want to see real women. And are using their own money, or at least going into the store to buy it.

I'm confused about the 'petite ' word here.. In the USA, petite is 5-3 ( 1. 6 1 5 4 4 ) & under, I believe.
Being small myself. It is difficult to buy clothes. I certainly don't want to look like a teenager or shop in the 'boys' department (believe me, I have). Most of my BEST clothes, I have to order & pay more. Short women & very tall women &, bbw, are neglected in fashion industry.

Fashion models - tall & too skinny are hired to make the CLOTHES look good. Not because THEY look good. And of course, most designers, agencies, advertising, retailers are... Mostly men.

@Zilya777: I love Vera Wangs designs. My wife is petite and plus size so I can empathize with you. Especially as a husband who loves buying clothes for his wife. I think this is a positive development.

well you are right 65% we do carry more big booty weman than any other state.and thay do eat the zombies dont come to ga. And we do have a h..ell of a good chose of ga peachs to you no.
