It took her off guard, by surprise / Not recognizing the boulder pulled before her eyes. / And she slept inside days spent staring into her own mind / Not recalling his face, in the background mists of her mirror. // She built a glass case for you, wrapped in silken cloths; Not allowing the pieces of herself to leak out. / And maybe with this Love, or some "fill-in" canned seed can sprout through tattered pieces / of a long lost soul. // I only felt the kisses you lent; the soft release and sighs rolling off your lips / The sweet mournings of honeysuckle and blinding sun, cuddled up and in afternoon bliss / But somehow I lost you, in my lone red midnight thoughts. // She once numbed her body whole / Taking pieces of broken glass from the rotting parts of herself. / And with one muffled scream and deep sigh, released herself to the fall. / She never felt the blow.
