@sweeterthejuic3: There are other ways to own property cheaply that are less talked about. My friends in Wisconsin own several properties-mainly rentals, and they started out by buyin a duplex-fixer upper of course. He was a carpenter @ the time and did all the work-my best friend right along side of him hammer in hand:) they lived on one side-paid mortgage w rent from other side-plus worked of course:) once that was paid off-didnt take very long-I think 3yrs-they bought another one. They now own several but still both work towards college for kids and their early retirements:)
