I honestly say if you can not afford a ring then no cause she isnt saying yes cause of the ring if its true love she will say yes cause she loves you.

I agree with the statement that a ring makes it seem more "REAL" it shows the man has thought about it and its what he wants not jus a random thought.

Like everyone has been saying this is a real sensitive subject but in my opinion you don't really HAVE to have the ring bit it is a plus because then that special someone knows for sure your serious

Ram i dunno my ex wanted everything rings cars house and even took my cloth. I dunno but greed does come to mind. Ladies that say he cant afford a ring its ok. Let me ask u this. U can get a ring at a pawnshop for under 100 bucks. If a man cant afford a ring how can he afford a family?

This is a touchy topic for me personally. if the right man for me was to propose to me. I would freak out. if your wondering why? its because the trust honesty cheating of a man. Of going threw again.. it takes one man or one woman to mess it up for the others out there. I know ive been there seen it and been threw it myself. Mother of 1
so have most of us but we do get over it. Im gonna take it your not over it yet and thats why you would freak out. Time and getting to know yourself is the key. And not expecting any less of yourself.

When my ex asked me to marry him, he didn't have a ring for me. It was a moment of pure love, and neither of us expected it. I think if you're planning it ahead of time, you should have some kind of symbol of your love for her, but it doesn't necessarily have to be a ring. A friend of mine loves penguins, and her fiancee gave her a pebble as an engagement ring (penguins present their partner with a pebble when they pair up for life) So as long as it comes from the heart, it doesn't matter what the symbol is, IMO.
