Sperm .Donation (by Reinmaker56)
I think it is a sad commentary on our society that a man that donates sperm to a woman or a couple(heterosexual or lesbian) so that she/they may have a child they cldn't otherwise concieve and has an agreement to be a part of the child's life now has to have a law to protect their rights! It is my understand this law isn't for the donor that contributes then walks away but for the ones the contribute yet remain in the pic till a vindictive woman says not anymore and u have no rights....my heart breaks for those men that are in that particular situation and hope this law helps them.
@Reinmaker56: I just heard the story...I was wrong about the death...he donated sperm to a girl friend...agreed to help raise the child, signed papers as a co parent...and now the girl wants to cut him out after 3 years of the father being there. That's just crazy
If u give sperm u are not a parent in the laws eyes...but he signed agreeing he was a parent...I think he has a case

@Reinmaker56: Yeah I watched it, very interesting story. Laws in California are about to change due to this case.
@Briteeyes: what excately does the law say regarding this particular incident?
@Reinmaker56: Well I haven't done any research but what I heard today was anyone donating has no parental rights...they are making a law where the donor can have rights. Not sure I totally agree with that. This gentleman, the actor, says he didn't "donate" he "gave" his sperm to a girl friend and signed 20 papers on parenting. They just needed it artificially done due to a medical conditional. He didn't sign birth certificate to keep the child outta public eye...since father is famous. I do believe this donor should have his rights as a father cuz it wasn't him donating to anyone...it was an agreement with the mother of the child and she's the only one that received his sperm
@Briteeyes: ok let me see if i got this correct. Ok this guy donated his sperm to this girl. Then this girl has a child. Right so far.?
