When I was a kid; our TV was black & white, no programs were broadcast in color yet, only had 5 channels, which we're free BTW, and there was no such thing as a remote then, you had to get up to turn it on and off, and change the channels.
After school and on weekends the neighborhood was filled with all us kids playing outside, because there were no video games, laptops or cellphones.

When I was a kid, all soda pop came in glass bottles and you had to open a can of beer with a little can opener that punched a triangle shape into the top of it.
On Friday nights, when Dad got home from work, the family would pile into the car to go eat at Dog & Suds, where you ordered your food through the intercom, and the carhop would bring out your food on a tray that rested on the car's window (like Sonic drive ins). Than we would head over to the drive in movie theater where a speaker on a post would replace the food tray that previously occupied the spot on the car window, and we would watch the cartoons and double feature movies.
