@gnrgirl: it can work if there is real love. but some people are not use to eat that is why they bring disappointment to the relationship.

This is a really good ques. I have wondered about it myself, i have doubts, but ppl have made them work in the past, ive jus never experienced it before, dont know that i could really trust someone that much without knowing one another

@gnrgirl: yeah :) and my response was kind of a long winded answer that boils down to a yes or an absolutely :)

@gnrgirl: Nothing is impossible in life. If the people involve in the distance relationship are sincere to themselves, it will work.

@gnrgirl: Yep...looks down at the ground for a moment...and then back up...and smiles. "You're right about that" :)

Can long distance relationships really work? I've never even been in one, and I'm very doubtful...but curious :)
I just posted this in a similar thread, so I'll post it again here.

From my experience, long-distance relationships work best when there is light at the end of the tunnel and that light is clearly visible right now to the both of you.

What I mean by the light at the end of the tunnel is the point where the long-distance ends and you are both permanently and physically together wherever that may be.

If one or both of you have no idea when or how you will both be together in the future, then the difficult moments every relationship goes through will be magnified by the distance and the lack of finality to the circumstances will quickly weigh down the relationship.

That doesn't mean it's impossible to make it work without seeing that light, only that it will be considerably more difficult IMO. Aleksandra and I did a few years of long-distance (first between Brazil and Australia, then between Spain and Australia) in the almost 9 years we've been together, but we could always see the light each step of the way.

Andres,
I agree with you, what starts that light is a commitment and communication and then builds from there. :) The resolve has to be there with both people, and be pretty much unbreakable.
Peace and Joy,
Bones :)

@gnrgirl: You know, you are right...I talk in generalities all the time....never even thought about that. *shocked look*...huh...I suppose it is just because I don't want to seem like I am talking about myself. lol...okay, well, I do have commitment, resolve and at least a medium communication skill... :)
